Road closure of the B 462 between Baiersbronn and Freudenstadt (through Friedrichstal):
Starting on 15th April 2026, the B 462 (Freudenstadt – Baiersbronn) is completely closed in both directions until further notice due to roadworks. Traffic is diverted in both directions via the B 294 and the L 409 (Klosterreichenbach).
Road closure of the B 462 between Forbach and Gernsbach-Hilpertsau (March to October):
Since March until, it is expected, October 2026, Federal Highway 462 will be upgraded in both directions between Forbach and Gernsbach-Hilpertsau over a total distance of around 10 km. Traffic will be diverted in phases via alternative routes (via the L 78, the L 83 Schwarzenbach-Talsperre and the Bundesstraße 500).
We recommend travelling via the Schwarzwaldhochstraße (B 500) and continuing to Ruhestein. If you are arriving via the Autobahn 5 (A5), please take the Achern exit and continue via Ruhestein towards Obertal and finally to Mitteltal.
A scheduled construction break is expected between Whitsun and the summer holidays.
Instead of arriving in your own vehicle you can take the train via Baiersbronn station or use our exclusive door-to-door Limousine Service. If you travel by train we would be pleased to send a chauffeur or organise a taxi for you.
