Grandiose melodies, verbal acrobatics, a literary delicatessen: culture at the Bareiss stands for atmospheric listening experiences and the finest of entertainment – surprising, exciting and varied. From classical music and readings, through cabaret and comedy, to the annual Advent Concert with the family. Silencio and clear the stage!
A top-class spectacle
Every year, the Black Forest Music Festival presents first-class artists from all over the world. All sorts of musicians perform before an interested public, guaranteeing top-notch concert experiences at a variety of locations throughout the region. Our Bareiss tradtionally offers culinary delights in the Library after the Patron's Concert on Whit Monday, and provides those who are interested with an opportunity to talk with the Festival's Artistic Director Mark Mast and the musicians.
Readings in German
Novels, short stories or fables, columns, classics of world literature or modern new discoveries – the hotel’s scribe and Bareiss chronicler H.P.O. Breuer, as well as theatre-lover and fairy tale enthusiast Johannes Smeets, are regular guests here with us. They know how to tell stories in an inimitable style and can find really good reading material. There are also invitations at short notice to current publications.
String quartets, jazz sessions, flamenco sounds, dialogue concerts – music is a language that everyone understands and that shows itself in manifest facets; the bandwidth of the instrumental listening experience is wide and, time and time again, it is exciting to see how a certain magic spreads through the room when the first tone is heard and how the vibrations put the audience in a special mood, from spellbound to relaxed.
On the first Advent Sunday, the Bareiss family traditionally invites all the guests to a festive Advent concert at the Christuskirche in Mitteltal. Let the classical music put you in the mood for the coming holiday season and enjoy a glass of sparkling wine at the reception during the interval – toasting a fulfilled pre-Christmas period.
